Esther Marah

Esther is a Registered Provisional Psychologist, in the process of becoming a Registered Psychologist, completing her hours with supervisor Brandi Gruninger. Esther completed her Master's of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and is registered as a Provisional Psychologist, currently in the process of becoming a Registered Psychologist. She has served a broad population navigating trauma, PTSD, and significant psychosocial stressors, often within systems that made access to care difficult, bringing 5+ years of experience across professional mental health and non-profit spaces. That experience shaped how closely she pays attention to the practical barriers standing between people and the support they need, not just the clinical picture. Her approach is humanistic and existentialist, rooted in the belief that people are inherently motivated toward growth and meaning, and that real change happens when someone feels truly seen.

Drawing from a range of modalities, including EFT, Narrative Therapy, CBT, and Existential Therapy, she works with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents (age 10 and up), with particular focus on complex trauma, identity formation, depression, anxiety, life transitions, attachment, relational difficulties, and emotional dysregulation.

Family and group work is a close area of focus in her practice. She is especially drawn to communication and attachment repair, and to helping young people and parents navigate who they are as individuals and as a family, and how to build a stronger sense of connection and identity along the way.

Esther provides individual counselling for children and adults
